Project Objectives Create a technical document for Egan Visual Inc. to clearly demonstrate the superior qualities of the EVS Presentation Surface.
Target Audience Facility managers specifically—but ultimately anyone looking for a surface product to project and make dry‑erase notes on.
Concept We wanted to make this document one that simply presented the facts about presentation surfaces in a comparative way. Ironically, a fictitious unit of measurement called “Decandidi” (roughly translates into “from bright white”) was created to measure and compare glare “fall-off” or halos.
Design Issues Controlling the dot at press was crucial—any variance of colour by as much as 5% could throw off the representation of the EVS by about 200%. At the same time, adjustments would have to be made on the photography in order to evaluate the glare on the printed piece.
Design Process Particular care had to be taken in controlling the environment for photography. Equal care was taken for optimizing the photography for print, and web reproduction. All adjustments to photography were done in unison so the comparative qualities between products remained accurate.
Outcome/Results To present day, this document remains a useful selling tool, and provides a fair and accurate comparison of Egan Visual Surface to other dry-erase and projection surfaces.
